A great promoter of musical youth, he pays special attention to the creation of educational projects that aim to spread music in all spheres of society. In 2006 he toured Venezuela, collaborating, at the invitation of Dr. José Antonio Abreu, with the nuclei of FESNOJIV (State Foundation for the National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Venezuela) and in the same year he began a wonderful concert and pedagogical collaboration with the young Mexicans of the orchestras of the Sistema Nacional de Fomento Musical (National System of Youth Musical Promotion of Mexico).
Pablo Varela received on two occasions (1999 and 2005) the Award of the National Fund for Culture and Art of Mexico for his excellent artistic activity and his social commitment. In 1999 he was awarded the title of Cultural Ambassador of Tijuana to the World, a lifetime distinction granted to him by the government of his city for his artistic merits.
Pablo is Professor of Orchestral Conducting at the Luigi Boccherini Conservatory in Lucca and is current Artistic Director of Lucania Musicale Cultural Association in Matera, Italy.
